Art can do many things and often painters help you see things in unexpected ways. Water colorist John McLaren piques our interest in the Artist Challenge this month to paint a window. Rather than simply showing us a window though, he tempts us to look closer to discover what is on the other side of it. In “Time Machine” he presents a scene from an earlier age. Some may recall when televisions were new technology and viewed with interest through TV store windows. But is that what’s happening here? John leaves only the smallest clues and you may find yourself trying to figure it out.
Creative artists rose to our challenge yet again and provided window scenes that are sunny, reflective, mysterious and colorful. Come by the PAPA Gallery in August to see the full range of interpretations on our special Challenge exhibit wall. We also have fresh new paintings on the walls in our current show. Stop by for a while and simply enjoy art with us!
