We have a lot of wildlife in our yard and enjoy most. For the last two summers, we have had a short tailed squirrel visiting, he loves to be talked to…or maybe mostly the peanuts that come with the conversation! If we do not see him, he hits the storm door with his head! One day, I looked and saw his body flying past the glass, as he jumped from one side to the other, to get our attention! Well, he has an appropriate name, now…”Short Tail”! So funny.

Speaking of wildlife, Mark Ray, in his Featured Artist Show, has masterfully created paintings of wildlife! He painted with a former PAPA member, now deceased Mel Garbark, Mark learned well! Be sure to see his wonderful show.

We have an opportunity to give back to our community, by donating a painting to a charity auction benefiting The Papillion Center a faith based non-profit. They support kids and families facing crises of many kinds. The leaders visited our last meeting, explaining how creating art is part of the counseling in beginning the healing process. Chad McLaren sent an email explaining the details of our participation. Briefly, “Hope and Transformation” is the theme. Bring your donation to Aug. 26th meeting.

The Gallery Show Change, begins July 28th and 29th to bring your work. 4 framed, (name of painting on front), 4 unframed, 7 minis, 8 cards. Heather has asked that the minimum price be $5, on the cards. Our meeting is at 7:00 on the 29th. The program is “Color Harmony in using the Color Wheel”. The Challenge is “Painting of a Window”. Paula Clark Trojahn is Featured Artist for August. Refreshments are by Jean Lorrah.

Just a reminder that our $10 Miniature Fundraising Sale is coming in November. Not too early to start on your minis to donate to our only fundraiser! The Gallery Show Nov-Jan, will once again feature your original ornaments! We sold $550, last year, so let’s do it again!

Friday, we will take down the City Hall Show. Spoke to Cathy, our city hall contact this morning. She said many visitors came to visit the show and it was so enjoyed by all, especially city hall employees. Thank you, to everyone for participating!

Welcome new member, Lisa Welch, from Calvert City.

Always busy times for us! Enjoy your summer, stay safe and healthy. As always, thank you, for all you do for PAPA.
