You might wonder if jellyfish were created with a sense of humor. We see them floating around as a gelatinous mass that is sometimes transparent, sometimes multicolored. They move like a shapeshifter and can be seen drifting peacefully or suddenly shooting off as if from a cannon. The soft and feathery appearance of tentacles invite you to come closer but their touch might leave a sting! They are full of contradictions.

Our challenge wall is filled with images of jellyfish this month. PAPA artist Judith Webb created this watercolor version she called “JAZZR Jellyfish.” Her specimen is graced with alluring colors and seems to be on the move. The surrounding water appears to be teeming with activity. We can believe it’s a happy community with other marine life going about its business in this colorful, imaginative environment. You may find you’re feeling a little like floating yourself! Come by the PAPA Gallery this month to see the myriad of jellyfish our artists have created. There are a lot of new paintings on our walls to enjoy and as always, we love to simply enjoy art with you!
