As predicted, the snow and ice came in on schedule! I was bringing in provisions for four days prior to the storm… we never missed a meal! One thing I learned from a very long year of being a Brownie Scout, was to be prepared! Thank you for your response moving up the schedule for delivering your work, for the Gallery Show change! You never fail to deliver an excellent show. Since we were closed, I took a couple days to hang the show, looking at your work and not just color. You are so gifted and creative!! Sales were very strong, the first week of the new show.

Welcome back, Susan Edwards to our membership! She sold her business, retired, and is now painting, again. Be sure to check out her colorful, fun miniatures.

Main Street is back and being guided by new leadership! You probably noticed new fall and Christmas decorations. At our meeting, Jenny will share the plans they have, for spring and summer…maybe beyond. Positive things are happening around Paducah, especially downtown!

Our next meeting, will be Feb. 24th at 7:00. Savannah Vincent, from Broadway Framing, and Justin Hammonds, local block printer, will discuss wood block printing, lithography. They will bring tools, specific to their types of printing, you will be able to see and handle them. They will talk about their specific styles and have samples of their work. This will be very informative. Diane works hard, to bring good programs, growing us in the knowledge of many types of art. Be sure to thank her.

The Featured Artist for February, is Brenda Foster. Her show is so reflective of her life, and what she loves. Her show will extend through March. Chad Nelson is featured in April. The Challenge Is, “Painting of a Jelly Fish”.

Hope you are making good use of our Library. There are instructions for drawing, color use, watercolor, everything to grow your knowledge of your favorite medium. Just list your book, date taken, and date returned. Top shelves have DVD’s and many VCR’s, if you still have that technology!

The next Gallery Show Change is April 28th. The AQS Quilt Show, is April 22nd-25th. Like last year, we hope to have special items, drawing visitors into the Gallery.

One thing good about snow, ice, and cold…we could stay home and paint! Hope you took advantage of this opportunity.

As always, thank you, for all you do, for PAPA.
