When you read this newsletter, I will be recovering from Cataract surgery. I was planning to be pampered for two weeks, reality is one week is enough! I keep asking how can this be happening to me, unfortunately guess I am getting old…sigh!
Have you noticed our new table cloth? Let’s take care of it, by cleaning up, if you mess it up with paint, or anything else.
Our People’s Choice ribbon disappeared, mysteriously. Carol Tribou, with her talent for lettering, made another. Now, a pretty purple ribbon has appeared in its place! Thanks, to Carol and secret gifter! Stay tuned to the ribbon saga.
If you have a painting for the Papillion Fundraiser, bring it to the August meeting. PAPA has a table reserved for the Free Thanksgiving Dinner and Celebration, Sept. 4th. Call Chad McLaren, 270-227-0499, to receive more info. and save your seat.
Suzanne Alexander has many talents, one is to perfectly describe your paintings, she selects, to share with our email followers. Our list continues to grow, beyond our expectations. Take an opportunity to thank her, for taking this task to new heights!
Time for our meeting, August 26th…7:00! Diane has series on color and using the color wheel. The program will be “Color Saturation”. This series is so helpful for understanding color and improving our works. This month Challenge is “Painting of a Barn”, next month “Painting an Abstract”.
Featured Artist for September is the Sharp Family. Amy Sharp is Clara Little’s granddaughter. She and her children Emma Claire and Yates are continuing the legacy Clara began by being a Charter Member. The family is just precious, talented, and I now consider them my family! Paula Trojahn’s Featured Artists Show is so beautiful! The softness she achieves in Watercolor is amazing…see her show soon.
Dates to remember…October 27th and 28th, next Gallery Show Change. November 15th, $10 Mini Fundraiser. This event funds our bank account in lean months of winter., so get busy painting mini’s.
Former member, Susan Lambert, died recently from Lung Cancer. Her wishes were no obit or funeral. She cared for her husband, Larry, for many years as he suffered from severe dementia. Susan was a very gifted artist, she and Vickie Gingrich painted together many years.
Vickie Gingrich is missing this show to have and recover from complicated knee surgery. Her surgery will be September 17th. We miss her this show, she told me she is missing us, so much!
Ryan Robertson and Chad McLaren have refreshments for he meeting.
Happy Labor Day, get some rest and get ready for a busy fall! As always, thanks,
for all you do for PAPA.
