“Water” was the word challenging our painters this month and we give you many ways to consider this substance. This ocean scene with the giant splashing fluke was created as “A Whale of a Tale” by Carol Tribou. She leaves you free to imagine a sweltering hot day in warm southern waters or an icy one in the arctic as she provides no other clues. You can almost hear the massive splash and feel the ocean spray in the air no matter the temperature. You may even notice a feeling of time being suspended for just a flash, knowing at any moment the whale will disappear and the ocean will once again rest undisturbed.

Our other water challenge paintings are no less engaging and we invite you to drop by the PAPA Gallery to see for yourself. July is also the last month of our summer show and all the current paintings on exhibit will be replaced by a new collection in August. There’s always something interesting to see on our walls and we hope you’ll come by to simply enjoy art!
