Quilt Week in Paducah reminds us of the myriad ways we create and enjoy art. PAPA member Suzanne Alexander shares her love of all things textile in her special exhibit, “Variations on a Theme of Old Blue Jeans.” Her fantasy piece above, “Dragon Flower Castle” was constructed from old blue jeans and other bits of used textiles. From traditional quilt patterns to abstract constructions, her quilted art works are quite at home among the other paintings on our walls. Other PAPA artists pay homage to quilters this month with a special collection of paintings depicting quilts in progress, quilts on barns and quilts in the wild! You’ll also find uniquely artistic quilted bags and greeting cards for great mementos from your time in Paducah. Stop in for a visit while you’re downtown. We love to simply enjoy art with you!
