Carol writes…
I have always enjoyed art. The uncommon inspires me. I appreciate the uniqueness in an individual’s countenance be it an interesting expression, a rare feature, a mysterious air, or a unique culture. I have spent the last fifteen years creating watercolor and pastel paintings of such people. I also paint still life, animals, and landscapes. I enjoy collecting and displaying fellow local artist works in my home. Pastel is my favorite medium.
Carol has studied with Belan Laio and Tommy Fletcher. Tommy is still an encouragement and guide. Her art can be found and has been shown at the Paducah Area Painter’s Alliance, aka PAPA Gallery, Yeiser Art Center, the Women’s Club of Paducah Art Show (juried) and Clements Art Center. Many friends and family have pieces of her art and other pieces have either been donated to charity or sold though the PAPA Gallery.
Carol has received awards from the Women’s Club (2009) 2nd place, (2010) 1st and 2nd, (2011) 1st, (2012) 2nd, and Honorable Mention, (2013) 1st and 2nd. She is a member at both the PAPA Gallery and the Yeiser Art Center.
