Dear PAPA Artists,
Our Show-in-a-Show event to take place in September is coming together with some exciting news! Our Opening Night, September 19, 3-7pm, coincides with Downtown Paducah’s ‘Cars and Guitars’, Event. There are two of these events this summer (May 23, June 20), and two in the fall (Sept 19, Oct 17).
We reached out to Michael Dukes, photographer for the first Cars and Guitars event, May 23, to ask him if he would permit PAPA Artists to use his Photo Album as references to original paintings for our upcoming exhibit this fall. Michael’s response was an enthusiastic YES! He said he would be honored by that, and we are truly thankful. We will credit and celebrate him along with any paintings inspired by his photos. Michael is also interested in purchasing a painting of his photography logo, or one of the photos from the event for his home – perhaps a commissioned piece. He is looking forward to seeing the exhibit 🙂

‘Classic Rides and Retro Vibes’ – Show-in-a-Show
Exhibit Dates: September 19 – October 24
Opening Night: Saturday, September 19, 3-7PM
Location: PAPA Gallery
w/Cars and Guitars, 3-8pm, Broadway St, Downtown Paducah
Guidelines: Enter up to four framed miniature paintings inspired by Classic Cars, Guitars, Music, and Retro Vibes. Paintings sold during the event may be replaced up until the ending date of October 24.
Entry Details: accepting Entries Aug 29- Sept 18
* (4 max) Framed miniature original signed paintings
* Theme of paintings: Classic Cars, Guitars, Music, Retro Vibes
* Framed size 8×10 or smaller (outside dimension)
* Label on back of each entry: Artist Name, Painting Name, Price
* Docent requirements do not apply to enter this special exhibit
* Unsold paintings will be entered in next PAPA member show period (Nov-Dec-Jan)

We will also reach out to the Cars and Guitars site, in general, to invite other photographers to do the same. If we get any more Albums to add to this Reference collection below, we will keep it, and you, updated!
