Happy 35th Birthday, PAPA! Thanks, to our membership, as we continue the goals set in 1991, to encourage and educate local artists, provide a place to show and sell their paintings, and offer a place for socializing with other artists. Another amazing fact, we have been at 124 Broadway since 1997!

Cindy has sent out a schedule of upcoming art related activities and opportunities to showcase your art. Remember May 8th and 9th, Lowertown Art and Music Festival, Ryan Robertson and Chad McLaren have a booth. May 23rd, Ryan and Chad have a Show, “Blurred Reality”, at the Focus Building, 221 Kentucky Ave (across from 1857 Hotel), 6:30-9:30.

Main Street is sponsoring “Fridays After Five”, beginning June 5th, Downtown Paducah, 5-9. This will include Music in every block, food, and a lot of fun! We need to be open for a portion of the evening. Your Board suggests 3-7, if possible, with 2 people working the Gallery. You may sign up to stay on the new calendar currently at the Gallery. Consider working more than the three times required.

What a great response to the “Show in a Show, Celebrating Paducah Quilters”! A special thanks to Suzanne Alexander, for her Quilting display done in denim! Her work is so creative and loved by our visitors and each of us! Thanks, too, to Vickie Gingrich for sharing and selling her colorful bags…truly works of art! Remember, 4 miniatures will be moved to the new Gallery Show.

Time again, for another Gallery Show Change! Bring your work April 27th and 28th. The meeting is the 28th, 7:00 at the gallery. As usual…bring 4 framed, 4 unframed, 7 miniatures, and 8 cards. The Program will be Diane and Cindy, “Creating a Member’s Page, for the Website”. This will be step by step, as they walk us through the process. The Challenge is “Painting Done with a Toothbrush”, for May “Painting of a Bicycle”. Be sure to have your Challenge Painting wired for hanging.

Haven’t you enjoyed Chad Nelson’s Featured Artist Show? It is so whimsical, fun, and well executed! Linda Thomasson will be featured in May.

At the recent Board Meeting, we voted to continue having ornaments in the Nov-Jan Show. Entering ornaments is open to all members, not just exhibiting. As suggested by Heather, ornaments must be priced at $10, minimum.

Welcome to new members Pamela Crouch, Judith Nichols, and Dianna Young. Introduce yourself and make them welcome! Art wise and sales wise, this has been a tremendous show! I look forward to seeing your creativity in the new show!

Liz and Jenny have refreshments for the meeting.

We have many opportunities, so get busy painting! As always, thank you for all you do for PAPA!
