In this part of the world, we are rarely ambivalent about snow. A mention of snow in the forecast is guaranteed to get reactions ranging from glee to abject dread. When you can be still long enough to contemplate it though, it’s hard to deny it’s pure beauty. PAPA artist Jenny Fuller has given us the literal picture of a beautiful snowfall in “Big Snow.” The evergreen trees are covered enough to be white but not so much that you can’t see colorful foliage beneath. The distant view is misty and we can see big flakes in the air signaling we caught this scene mid snowfall. Later the view may disappear into blizzard, but right now it’s perfect in its frosty stillness.
Our current featured artist exhibit is a smorgasbord of winter scenery and reminds us all of the beauty of the season. This eclectic group of artists has given us a variety of ways to appreciate this time of year. Come visit us at the PAPA Gallery to be reminded of all we enjoy about winter. We have many paintings waiting for you to come and simply enjoy art with us!
