Our program tonight was presented by Suzanne Alexander, quilter extraordinaire. Suzanne has been applying color principles we use as painters to the designs in her quilt creations. She walked us through the process of creating a quilt from start to finish. The project used a sunset as inspiration for the ‘Happy Place’ quilt, and involved family and friends that provided personal sentiments which were incorporated on the back of the quilt. Suzanne’s niece Chelsea assisted in the design and applied her technical skills in transforming notes into printable images. This project was a perfect way to show love and support to the recipient as she prepared to enter cancer treatment.
