Papillion Fundraiser Participants – Photo Request

Dear Papillion Participants,
A reminder and request, as you prepare your artwork for delivery to the Gallery: If your time permits, and you are willing, would you take a photo of your painting before you deliver it to the Gallery? Before or after framing, as you prefer.

Send your photo (optional) with YOUR NAME, and PAINTING NAME to Cindy by Email, or text (below). Your photo will be included in a PAPA promotion, and shared with the Papillion Center for their purposes, if they choose.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. TOP TIPS: If you haven’t practiced enough with taking photos of your paintings, here are my top tips for taking photos with a phone:

    • Natural light (SOFT/EVEN) is best to prevent glare and get color harmony – your phone’s camera will adjust to very low light
    • To ‘SQUARE’ your photo, use the outside edge of frame to guide your camera angle. Don’t look at the painting – look around it. (I know it’s hard not to, but you needn’t worry – it’s not going anywhere). Even if you crop the frame out, this is the best way to capture your painting as it is intended to be seen by the artist.
    • Try to prevent light BEHIND the camera, especially, to prevent glare.

Papillion Center Thanksgiving Dinner and Fundraiser- Picture this

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Theme: “Hope and Transformation” — feel free to interpret this in your own artistic style.
  • Entry Deadline: Please have your piece framed and ready to hang by our PAPA meeting on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Members from the Center will collect the work at the meeting. If you can’t attend, just leave your work in the back with a note and we will be sure and include it!
  • Bear in mind that your artwork will be donated to the Papillion Center. Pieces may be silent-auctioned at the event, or displayed at the Center for the community to enjoy afterward.
  • Thanksgiving Dinner/Event will be September 4th at 6PM – all are welcome to attend!
  •
The Papillion Center is a faith-based nonprofit that supports kids and families facing trauma, attachment issues, FASD, NAS, and related challenges. Your artwork will not only contribute financially—if auctioned—but it will also serve as a beacon of hope and transformation to the families they serve.

As Dutch would say: Thanks for all you do!

    Artfully Yours
