Keith Murphy was born in Nashville Tennessee. He has also lived in Atlanta Georgia, but now resides in Wingo Kentucky. Keith was first introduced to art in elementary school when he was encouraged by his mother to enter a poster contest. Later on after graduating high school in Nashville he moved to Atlanta and enrolled in a comic book art class. It was that experience of inking artwork with a brush that led him to love the transparent quality of watercolor.

Upon returning to Nashville, Keith took ongoing classes from watercolor artist and teacher Gail McDaniel. Since then, over the past dozen years, Keith has continued to refine his watercolor technique and style. He has been influenced by master watercolor artists such as Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet, and Janine Gallizia among others. He gets tremendous satisfaction in his paintings by giving the viewer “something extra."

Keith's paintings have evolved over the years to incorporate a mood and atmospheric style. Landscapes, city scapes and nature to the everyday basic subjects are given a sense of tranquil softness and well being. Keith hopes that the art he paints can bring a magnetic enjoyment and pleasure to those who view it.
