The PAPA Gallery

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are prices in the gallery negotiable?  The short answer is no. Care is taken by each artist to develop a fair price taking into account their time, work, supplies, framing, etc.

  • Can I purchase a painting without the frame at a reduced price?  No, again the artist has chosen to display their painting in a frame that becomes a part of the entire piece of art.  Unframed pieces are also available in the gallery if you prefer framing your own.

  • Can I commission a portrait or other painting?  Yes, several artists accept commissions. The * symbol by the artist's name on the Artists page indicates whether or not they paint on commission and a binder is available in the Gallery with more information. You would need to make direct contact with the artist to discuss the project you have in mind and to work out details such as pricing. You can ask for more specific info from the contact us section above, or stop in or call the gallery and speak to someone directly.

  • Can I join the Paducah Area Painters Alliance if I only work in pencil?  Yes! PAPA welcomes painters working in a number of mediums including graphite or colored pencil! More information about membership can be found on the All About Membership page.
