Come back again soon to see more about Carson!

Carson Brown

My love for painting began in high school where I detoured from music class to take an art class. I fell in love with it that first year and went on to take three years of art classes before I graduated. Currently, I am a student at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Spanish. I continue to paint for the love and enjoyment of it. It is my outlet to share the beauty around me from my own perspective.

Watercolor is my favorite medium because of the way it feels. However, I enjoy all types of mediums. I have pieces that include lyrics, stippling, color pencil, pen and ink, oil, and of course, acrylic.

Anything can be a good subject. I am always looking at people and nature admiring the original creation. I like to get a different perspective or view of the things I see. There are small details that, in the rush of life, we miss. Those are my favorite views to capture.

I began entering my pieces in local 4-H competitions where I garnered blue ribbons and “Best of Show” awards. As a high school student my paintings earned accolades in the Paducah Women’s 79th Art Show, region wide art shows, and the Yeiser student art exhibit.  I have a passion for missions so I donated a piece to a local charity auction that benefits children. That piece featured a child I met in Morogoro and utilized the sermon on the “Beattitudes” written in Swahili.

I continue to pursue my love for painting. PAPA has given me a wonderful avenue to share my love for painting and share ideas with other artists. I look forward to new and exciting opportunities!
