We encourage potential members to attend at least one meeting before making the decision to join and you can get an informational brochure at the gallery if you'd like. Any member can help answer any questions you may have. Once you've made the decision, you can complete a new member form at the gallery, during a meeting or click here to download and fill it out in advance. We'd love to have you!
Opportunities to work with other members is one of the stellar benefits of membership
The only requirement for regular membership is being a practicing artist. From beginner to advanced, everyone is welcome. The more advanced members assist those with less experience and everyone benefits.
PAPA membership dues are held to a minimum so as not to be a hardship or deterrent. The income from dues is used to help pay Gallery expenses. All dues and monetary contributions are tax deductible under a 501(C)(3) status with the IRS.
PAPA maintains an extensive library for use by all the membership. There are books and videos covering a variety of subjects including art history on the masters and contemporary artists, instructions in technique and composition, painting in all mediums and much more. Most of the library has come about through the generous contributions of PAPA members and it’s there for all to benefit.
Exhibiting Your Art Work
One of the perks for members is being able to exhibit their paintings in the PAPA Gallery. Along with that perk comes a requirement to serve as docent for 3 days of your choosing during the show in which your work is exhibited. When you become a member you are eligible to hang your paintings in the next scheduled show.
Every three months a new show is hung with new paintings and members may enter a previously hung painting that has been out of the gallery for at least two shows (six months).
Paintings may be for sale or for display only. They should be priced to include a 35% PAPA donation. Proceeds from painting sales help support the Gallery.
