The mission of the Paducah Area Painters Alliance is to provide, promote and activate interest in all branches of the visual arts by presenting a wide range of artistic opportunities and activities to meet the varied needs and taste of both the artists and the viewing public.
PAPA strives to trigger an internal imagination by providing enrichment, challenge and artistic opportunities for all people of the region.
All exhibits, programs, activities and services are provided equally without regard to ethnic background, income, gender, age or disability.
Recognizing that education is our greatest resource, PAPA places special focus on providing a learning environment and encouraging the exchange of acquired knowledge.
All exhibits sponsored by the Paducah Area Painters Alliance are free to the general public.
PAPA Celebrates Silver Anniversary!
As of April 2016 the Paducah Area Painters Alliance turned 25 years old! It all started back in 1991 when a small group of local Paducah artists realized a common need. They wanted to learn more about fine art and painting. With varying degrees of skill and knowledge they began meeting together to share and learn. Soon it was evident they needed some structure to their group and the Paducah Area Painters Alliance was born.
From its founding, PAPA’s membership has grown and enjoys a place of its own to meet, work and exhibit. PAPA members continue to share knowledge and support those who wish to learn more about visual arts and painting.
